Hi! I’m Samiya and I’m the founder of Happy Hour. I guess this journey started 7 years ago with my first part - time job. I was in high school and I had gotten a job at the local candle shop! (and no, it wasn’t out of a fanatic love of candles but because that was the only place that would hire a 15 year old with no experience) But it was a happy accident. There, surrounded by beautiful candles & exotic aromas I grew to love them. 

Fast forward a few years later. High school’s over & I steps into the big, wide world. I becomes a cocktail bartender. I experienced the wonders of young adulthood, where friends become your family and your family, friends. Where you try new things & everything seems possible. Where you make mistakes too, yes, but you wouldn’t change them for the world. (And of course, a lot of drinking is involved.)

Fast forward again. Frustrated from ‘working for the man’, I quit my job & decides to pursue this idea that had always been there in the back of my mind, waiting, watching. This desire to marry my two passions - candles & cocktails. But it was more than that. It was the dream to translate these beautiful, timeless memories into something we can touch. To recreate those crazy, reckless & magical nights of our youth. And that’s what our secret ingredient is - passion!

And that’s why affordability is so important to me (no, seriously) Because these candles are supposed to be for us, the middle men, the working class, whatever you want to call it.
